It is a welcome move for the train commuters in the GTA region
Train services like GO Trains and UP Express are undoubtedly the lifeline of public transport across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). If you take these trains for the daily commute, then we have a great news for you!
Both Go Train, as well as UP Express, have decided to extend their service hours and add more trips to make traveling easier for commuters.
Come April 7th, Lakeshore East GO trains and Lakeshore West Go trains will have a total of 52 additional trips spaced across weekends and late-night schedules. GO Train seems to be wooing families and weekend crowd by offering trains every 30 minutes from Union Station to Oshawa in the east and to Oakville in the west.
Even UP Express has announced two additional early morning trains starting from Union Station at 4:55 am and 5:10 am from April 7th onwards. UP Express aims to make the commute easier for early morning fliers from Pearson International Airport.
Apart from the extension of train services in the GTA region, the province plans to install wifi on trains and grocery pickups from GO stations. Looks like train traveling experience is about to get much better for folks in GTA!
